Its a Cold New Year

There was a deep cold chill but we rang in the new year with no injuries. Last year I decided to start off 2010 by tearing my ACL, that affected the entire year. But 2011 has gone off without a hitch except for maybe the low temperature digits. Spencer looked up the weather in the South Pole and it was the same 10 degrees as in Salt Lake City. But that did not stop us from bundling up and playing outside. New Years Eve we ate at the delicious Pie Pizzeria, where we only had to wait an HOUR to get our pizza pie. But we did get a great cozy seat next to the fire where the kids were entertained. After dinner we braved the cold and ice-skated around our favorite neighborhood ice-skating rink. We were happy my parents and sister's family were brave too and came to play. And it was almost a necessity to down some hot chocolate and treats at our house afterwards. The kids also decorated some new years noise makers and garb to wear to ring in the new year. And the new year began for these little ones at approximately 9:35 p.m. My niece was surprised to find that we ring in the new year at about this time every year instead of torturing ourselves until midnight. On new years day we went sledding for 2 hours and then had dinner and made smores with an outdoor fire-pit at my sister's home. Yes we are crazy but crazy keeps me sane.

So here is my toast for the new year ...
In the year 2011, may we have a year of good health, wealth, spiritual enlightenment, education, and mental wellness!
(It's not too much to ask right?)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year! John and the boys went skiing at Sundance on 1/3. I thought of you. Let's hope this year is free of injuries!
