Sweet Cycling Stella

Last summer Stella said she wanted to wait until she was 6 to learn to ride a bike without training wheels. This past Saturday just two weeks short of her sixth birthday she decided she was ready! And this girl was determined. We were at my parents house so my dad took the training wheels off a small bike at their house. The trickiest part was teaching her how to start out. But she kept trying and trying. She didn't want me to balance her so she just kept practicing until she just took off. Before we knew it, she was riding all around the neighborhood. The next morning she was up and out there again. That is all she wants to do. Today she asked to ride her bike to school in the freezing weather. She is so proud and happy with this new skill. And we are proud of SWEET STELLA too! There is nothing like teaching your oldest child a brand new skill like riding a bike. Check her out. She is riding an extra bike in our garage because her bike still has the training wheels but they will be coming off soon!
