Here we are, the happy couple riding off into 12 years of adventure. We just celebrated our 12th anniversary July 10. It has been a great ride of mostly ups and the usual downs. And I am so grateful that we always come through everything loving each other that much more and looking forward to our travels ahead together! Our honeymoon was no exception to our adventurous times. We nearly missed our plane, that only leaves once a week, to Europe due to a connection delay. And because of this mishap our luggage did not arrive in Munich, Germany with us. So we got our rental car and proceeded into the very confusing city of Munich getting lost very quickly. It took us three hours to find our quaint little hotel. I was just mesmerized by the history and beauty of the city and Spencer was frantically trying to get me to look at the map. We spent an extra day touring around Munich and wearing the same clothes preparing to buy new supplies. But just in time the airlines delivered our bags right to our hotel room. We had every place we visited after this mapped out very carefully and did not get lost again. We got asked often where our parents were. We really were just kids! Some highlights of our travels were through the castles of Germany, the waterways of Venice, the valleys of Florence, the coastal Italian city of Cinque Terre, the magnificent mountains of Switzerland, and blue lakes and alps of Austria. And a little stop in beautiful Lichtenstein. It seems we were always in search of ice and never in search of good food. We had cookies for breakfast and four course meals for dinner. And chocolate and cheese straight from the happy cows of the alps. I can almost taste it. I feel like we hit the ground running with our marriage and I hope we keep up the pace. This weekend to celebrate we took our adventures to the Mountain Music Festival at Snowbird. It was so nice to hike and actually make it to our destination, eat peacefully at a restaurant, and really soak in the music at an open air concert. Although we did admit how boring life would be without our children, it is nice to have some time just the two of us reminiscing on all our travels together and speculating on what ones are to come. A very happy 12th anniversary to my great love affair....Mr. Spencer Brian Snyder!
