This past week we took a little family getaway with my parents, and my sister's family to Park City. And so I ask...what are family getaways made of?
Family trips are endless fun activities around the condo like swimming in the great indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs. It was snowing the first two days and the kiddos made snow angels and jumped into the hot tub. The pool was so warm you could actually swim outside while the snowflakes fell. The weather warmed up to the 70's and was beautiful the rest of the week. The facility also offered crafts that the kids enjoyed everyday. Stella said her favorite was when the whole family (even the wee ones) played tennis. It felt so good to be up in the fresh air surrounded by fall!
Miles hanging in the shallow end avoiding the "big water" as usual.
Family trips are cousins squealing, laughing, crying, and playing games. Here they are dressed and ready for a little Sunday worship in the mountains. We went to a local church on Sunday.
Family trips are sleepless nights and recovery nights where everyone is so tired that they sleep like logs. Here is the morning crew that causes so much ruckus while trying to get some zzzzz......
Family trips, at least with my family, are good food and lots of it. This is the table we sat around to enjoy meals that we took turns making. Good thing there was a gym that we visited daily. And not to mention the shopping at the outlets, farmers market, and chocolate factory. My mom, my sister and I even snuck away one night for a girls night out while the kiddos hung with the boys to watch the BYU game.
So family trips are made of relaxing, exhuasting, and purely enjoyable times for the whole family to remember and cherish. Thanks mom and dad for being so selfless and loving!
(I hope you got some sleep)
