There Goes Peter Cotton Tail

The Easter Bunny found us in San Diego. We actually saw a wild bunny, I mean the Easter Bunny hop into the bushes there in the vineyard covered hills of San Diego. The bunny brought us all the necessities for some Southern California adventures.

My Uncle is the General Manager at Wild Rivers Water Park in Orange County so we had the place to ourselves for a unique egg hunt on Easter Sunday.

After church and dinner at my Aunt and Uncles home we got to spend some time at one of our favorite places...

THE BEACH!

It was snowing at home and we were reveling in the warm weather.

We spent several days playing in the surf.

There is certainly no place like Disneyland. The magic is thick. This year it was so fun because the kids were tall enough to ride everything! This was our first time at California Adventure and we all loved the Bug's life show!! Also the world of color was unbelievable. The lines were short, the weather was beautiful and we ran like mad for 14 hours. I loved that Brighton's favorite ride was the haunted mansion. The older kids loved the railroad roller coaster. My head was literally dizzy with Disney. So at 11pm we packed up our bags and headed back to the condo.

This was one of my favorite days there. We visited Torrey Pine State Park and hiked along the coast among all the most beautiful wild flowers. Hard to capture the beauty but a great place to spend the day. We collected seashells (that we left on the beach) and played in the water all day.

And another one of my favorite things was playing at the resort. There are a lot of fun things to do. The kids love the crafts and non-stop swimming. I loved the farmers market and all the fresh local goods I collected. I am pretty sure I could have just packed swimsuits and been fine. Miles was thrilled that he was tall enough for the water slide and rarely stopped going down while we were swimming.

The last day we were there before we drove to stay with my brother in Vegas we stopped at Legoland aquarium and park because my sister had some tickets they weren't going to use. The kids love Legoland but it is not Disneyland!!

And here is a little highlight from the trip. The second day we were there, Brighton ran into the corner of the door and cut a gaping hole in his head. Spencer is the GPS whiz so he ran him down to the ER and got his head stapled right up. He didn't even cry, such a trooper. And so accident prone. Our other kids have not had any incidents but this kid in his three short years has broken his arm and now staples in his head. They gave Spencer some clippers and he cut them out a week later, good as new. The trip to the ER was not Disneyland either but we are glad he got all fixed up so we could enjoy the rest of our vacation accident free!!

It was such a fun trip it was hard to come home and climb the mountains of laundry. At least the sunshine followed us home! Spring has arrived.
