Where the Wild Things Are is one of our favorite classic books that we read over and over to our children. So when Brighton wanted a monster party for his fifth birthday it was an easy fit! We had the party over at the lake in our neighborhood and near a stream. All the party goers wanted to splash in the lake the entire time but we convinced them to participate in a few fun activities. We made masks and sail boats! And then sailed our boats down the stream to where the wild things are. We had a monster feet relay that ended in a water balloon fight. And searched for little monsters hidden in the sand on the lakefront. We ate cake and fun monster treats. All the little friends were sent home with a sailboat rice krispee treat that read "Please don't go. We love you so. We'll eat you up!" Along with a sand bucket to hold all their treats and crafts. I do enjoy putting these parties together for my little ones but thank goodness they are only once a year!!Happy 5th birthday to the sweetest boy and my baby!
